			<content:encoded><![CDATA[	<p><b> The Borgata Poker Open saw a record number of participants in 2006. This year, 506 players entered the World Poker Tour main event for the chance to bag the $1.5 million first place prize.</b><br />
The prestigious Borgata Poker Open saw the largest number of entrants in the history of Atlantic City poker as 540 players turned up and anted up $10,000 each for a chance to win the biggest poker prize pool in Borgata&#8217;&#8217;s history Friday, Sept. 15.</p>
	<p>Players traveled from all over the world to take part at the World Poker Tour Main Event at the Borgata Poker Open. The best-known names in the poker world battled it out for the $1.5 million first place prize and a $25,000 seat at the World Poker Tour championship.</p>
	<p>John Jwanda and reigning WPT player of the year Gavin Smith are some of the notables in the event, as well as actress and poker pro Jennifer Tilly, philanthropist Barry Greenstein, David Williams and John Phan. Also present are Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, David Pham, Kathy Liebert and Michael Mizrachi.</p>
	<p>Shannon Elizabeth, the actress following in the footsteps of Jennifer Tilly, showed a strong play Friday, enabling her to advance Saturday. The game can only get hotter as the best of the best battle head on for first place.</p>
	<p>Poker fans and aficionados are invited to watch the World Poker Tour live at Borgata in Atlantic City over the next several days. The play gets more and more intense as the game leads up t o the final table taking place on Tiesday, September 19 at 5:00 in the afternoon.</p>
